There are an endless number of articles around about how to make virtual teams work better - greater trust, greater communication, . All these articles are useful and list out some very important advice, but are very high level and theoretical in nature. The assumption is that the reader is well versed with working in virtual teams, and wants to increase their effectiveness. But sometimes there is a great disconnect in what IT experts are writing about and the level of awareness of the very people they want to benefit. Having waded in a sea of technical lingo, you are suspect to subconsciously assume that your readers are as comfortable with technical language as you are. Sometimes it makes sense to talk to your audience without such unreasonable assumptions about their understanding.
